Photoshop for Beginners

Workshop Description:
Do you wish your images looked more professional? Adobe Photoshop can be a bit intimidating for a beginner, but it doesn’t have to be. In this workshop, Adobe Certified Expert Paul Kelly will show how easy it can be to touch up your photos, integrate text, make a photo collage, add cool effects, and optimize your images for online use. You’ll learn tricks and techniques for creating background images from scratch that can be used on your Facebook and Twitter home pages.

 


This workshop is for beginners, and no previous Adobe or graphics experience is necessary. It is a fast-paced class, and you should be familiar with basic tasks on your laptop (how to open, save and organize your files). You must bring your own laptop (Mac or PC are fine) and have Adobe Photoshop (not Photoshop Elements) installed on it. You can get a free trial version on Adobe’s website.

In this hands-on workshop you’ll learn how to collect information from subscribers; intelligently segment your lists; create responsive, mobile-friendly emails; and set up automated email campaigns, all through MailChimp’s free and delightfully easy-to-use service. We’ll also cover the new Canadian Anti-Spam Legislation, so you learn how to use email marketing legally and effectively!
 

Note: Laptop computers are required for this class. Also, you can transfer what you’ve learned to another email marketing program, but we highly recommend using MailChimp, and that’s what will be taught in the class.

Stop making your posters, postcards and brochures in Microsoft Publisher! Learn to use the software that pro designers use – Adobe InDesign. In this introductory level class, Adobe Certified Expert instructor Paul Kelly will teach you how to make a double-sided postcard using InDesign. You’ll discover how to bring in graphics, format text, and export a PDF file that’s ready to send to the printer. After this fun and interactive class, you’ll be able to produce your own professional-quality print material.
