Melissa Jean Clark

Melissa is a web developer with a keen eye for classic and “warm minimalist” design. She builds websites that are responsive, accessible, and easy to use. Her kind and straightforward approach makes her an excellent teacher and mentor, and her superb organizational skills ensure she can find (or create!) an elegant solution to any complex problem. Linn Øyen Farley

Linn is a freelance web designer and developer with a degree in technical theatre. She specializes in building beautiful and accessible websites for small businesses, fellow freelancers and arts workers, and believes in enabling even the most non-technical people to take control of their own site post-launch. Dani sprang in on the social media world before it got hot with her company Dani G Inc, and because of that has worked with over 600 companies in the last 7 years on their social media campaigns. Her innovative ideas sprout from over 15 years of social media experience, and being a young entrepreneur with a fresh take on marketing. Dani spends most of her time Snapchatting coffee pictures to the world, Teaching at Seneca College, or playing gigs with her band KINK.
Kristy Guthrie-Roth is a content strategist and eLearning consultant with over 10 years experience helping large organizations like GlaxoSmithKline, BlackBerry, and Mitsubishi Heating & Cooling －plus over a hundred small-medium sized businesses achieve their goals. She has pioneered an innovative approach to help organizations translate their knowledge into effective content that tells their story and brings their brand to life. Using strategy-first methods she has planned successful content marketing and eLearning programs for organizations internationally. Kristy founded Bright Light Content in order to apply her skills and abilities in a way that gives back to the community and world around her. Bright Light Content works exclusively with organizations committed to creating positive social change.
Katie is a freelance producer who has created podcasts for CANADALAND, The Imposter, Polaris Music Prize, Motherboard, Appcanary, Metro News, and St. Joseph Media. Her work has been featured on Best of iTunes 2015 and 2016. She’s the creator of a PWYC, inclusive podcast workshop series for artists, racialized, and low-income individuals. Katie has spoken about new media at Bloor Hot Docs Podcast Fest, World Radio Day, NCRA, CAJ, Bechdel Tested, and Pop Montreal.

Jessica Joyce is a Toronto-based marketer & developer. Currently working as a Senior Search Strategist for an agency, she assists with strategy, implementation and a multitude of pieces for the digital properties throughout the agency. Jess has been building and optimizing the web for over 10 years. Her experience in startups and agencies in various roles and levels of organizations has ranged from front-end development, training, analytics and client support but SEO has remained a consistent throughout. Lately you can find Jess with her headphones on, listening to a myriad of music, or out in the forest camping and disconnecting from the internet.

Starting out in traditional film and photography, Paul has been teaching for over 20 years and has been an Adobe Certified Expert in Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign since 2004. When not training, Paul stays actively involved in layout, design and production, freelancing in a wide range of settings, keeping up to date with the way these programs are being used in the industry today.
Jen McNeely is the founder and editor-in-chief of Shedoesthecity, an award-winning lifestyle site for women that launched in 2007 and receives two million visitors annually. The Globe and Mail describes Jen as a "trailblazer of authentic storytelling and community building" while NOW Magazine calls Shedoesthecity a "distinctly irreverent and city-savvy voice." Apart from creating a trusted source for women in Canada to discover exciting cultural events or gain insight from personal essays on various life challenges, Jen is proud to have established numerous promotional partnerships with corporate brands including H&M, Fujifilm, Warner Bros., TD Bank, Ford Motors and Shoppers Drug Mart, as well as local institutions like the ROM and AGO. Before launching Shedoesthecity, Jen worked in publicity and marketing at MuchMusic, Alliance Films and CBC Television. RJ is an academic at heart and an entrepreneur in spirit. He is savvy and passionate in both web marketing and social media strategy, and comes with over 6 years of experience in these areas. Additionally, RJ is the co-founder and Chief Marketing Officer of Grilled Cheese Affairs, a digital media strategy consulting agency. Before starting his own agency, he gained valuable international experience while living in Paris. He has represented many clients as a community manager, content marketer, digital advertiser, copywriter, and creative campaigner. Apart from working in the field, he loves to share his knowledge of all things digital through talks and guest lectures and has been invited to speak at Ryerson University, Seneca College, Humber College, George Brown College, and at various corporate institutions on-site. When not crafting cool campaign ideas or building websites with clients, RJ likes to cook and try out new recipes to increase his culinary skills, shoot arrows at the archery range, and travel as much as possible (a portable career helps!).

Sean Power is an independent marketing communications consultant focused on the health sector. Companies engage Sean when they need extended support for their core marketing communications team. In this capacity, he has represented clients as Project Manager, Vice President of Social Engagement, Community Manager, Communications Specialist, Public Engagement Coordinator, and Marketing Coordinator. Sean is regarded as an expert on digital marketing, social media, community management, and content marketing. He is a part-time instructor of Digital Marketing Foundations at RED Academy and has been published in marketing trade blogs such as Content Marketing Institute and elsewhere. He has been a guest speaker at higher education institutions including Pennsylvania State University (PSU), Smeal College of Business at PSU, the University of Toronto, George Brown College, and Centennial College, as well as other community events such as PodCamp and AccessibilityCamp. He is the Vice Chair of the Board of Directors at Habitat for Humanity Durham. He previously served as the Vice President of the Board of Directors at Durham Outlook for the Needy, a soup kitchen that serves 50,000 meals per year to those in need in the east part of the Greater Toronto Area. Sean holds a B.A. (Distinction) in History with a minor in English from the University of Western Ontario in London, Canada, and a Graduate Certificate (Hons.) in Marketing Management from Humber College in Toronto, Canada.
Theresa is a research and data analyst by day, and a stand-up comedian by night. She has a background in finance but has always had a passion for the environment and sustainability, which fits in great with her current role at Ontario EcoSchools. She was recently given a Data Diva award for her animated approach towards spreadsheets. She graduated in Mathematics in the UK and moved to Toronto over five years ago, where she now resides with her little cat. She was also once on the TV quiz show the Weakest Link.

Sara is a Toronto based freelance graphic designer who has been using Adobe products for over 20 years. She has 18 years experience in digital design, providing the user interfaces for touch screen kiosk software applications for clients including Moneygram, All Weather Windows, Bass Pro Shops and Dave & Buster's. In her spare time, Sara is an avid volunteer leading her cottage association's communication team, and mentoring at Ladies and Kids Learning Code workshops. Her love of animals has also led her to become an active volunteer with Annex Cat rescue as a Community Manager looking after their social media one day a week, as well as feeding a colony feral cats, ensuring their health and quality of life. Sara loves to learn as much as helping others to learn, especially in fun workshops like those at Camp Tech.

Richard is the VP Marketing for #paid, one of the hottest startups in Toronto, and the leader within the world of influencer marketing. From the creative, analytics, and technology aspects of marketing, Richard has a diverse experience from the big brands of Procter & Gamble (P&G) and Johnson & Johnson (J&J), to leading technology companies (Google, 500px). Upon graduating from Ivey, he led recruiting efforts for the undergraduate program and launched a new specialized masters program, the Ivey MSc. Some of his past roles include BAND-AID Brand, Visine, J&J First Aid, Covergirl, as well as launching Think With Google (publishing the latest marketing research and digital trends with data reports and articles from Google). In his spare time, he’s an avid sports fan from rock climbing, basketball, snowboarding, a variety of intramural sports, and cheering on the Toronto Raptors.

Fatima Zaidi has had ten years of experience in Business Development/Sales, Marketing, and Strategy. Her expertise in sales effectiveness, and partnerships led her to the role as VP of Business Development for Eighty-Eight, a Toronto-based creative communications agency. Prior to Eighty-Eight she was Head of Business Development at retail company Rent frock Repeat (who were on Dragons Den in Season 7) and was responsible for the overall management of all strategic business development, marketing, and customer relationship activities nationwide.
